The Production Control Clerk performs various production control activities including monitoring customer orders, posting production schedules, and calculating production rates. Reviews and distributes production, shipment, and work schedules, generates work orders, and compiles production data. The Production Control Clerk reports to the Manufacturing Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.
  • Review documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or materials requirements or material priorities.
  • Requisition and maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
  • Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
  • Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
  • Review Master Schedule for scheduled Job Kit Release.
  • Request needed documentation and prepare for Job Kit Release.
  • Route manufacturing release to stockroom and production.
  • Provide job priorities to respective departments.
  • Audit production floor for accuracy of lot traveler documents and material.
  • Ensure shelf life of shop floor material.
  • Ensure documents on production floor are updated per requirements and hardware dispositioned as required.
  • Track and status order through various departments.
  • Be prepared to report status daily.


  • Experience with inventory controls and warehouse process
  • Microsoft Suite experience (especially Excel and Word)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively and be able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents.

Desired skills:

  • Three years of successful working experience in a similar position.
  • Organized with the ability to plan and coordinate multiple tasks.
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Experience with an ERP system.
